PETCO Hamster Ball Derby

PETCO is having a Hamster Ball Derby on March 31 at 2pm at store locations across the country. This cracks me up. Yes, we raced our Chihuahua last year and I know there is a wiener dog race as well. But hamsters?

It’s free to enter, and there are prizes for the top 3 winning hamsters at each location. They also have coupons for free treats on “Race Day” on their website. It sounds like it could be fun, so we might have to stop by to watch. I had several hamsters growing up, and I would have loved this when I was a kid. – Priceless

Godiva Belgian Blends

A few mornings ago I was completely exhausted. My thyroid prescription had run out, and I was waiting to get more in the mail since it costs 50% to go to a pharmacy. At any rate, I was nearly falling asleep at my desk, so I needed a pick-me-up. My co worker and I went downstairs to the little store in our building and I bought a little piece of heaven– Godiva Beligan Blends. I got the Dark Chocolate Mocha, and it was delicious. An obvious rip-off of the liquid Starbucks coffee drinks, yet if you’ve been reading my journals for awhile you know I think those taste like monkey bottom. The Godiva version is sinful, yummy, and sadly went way to quickly.  It doesn’t taste overly coffee-like, and it had just the right sweetness. I was alert the entire day, which is a tough feat when I’m without my medication.  It felt slightly high-class, like drinking a glass of nice wine or something.  Everyone felt the need to comment on the Godiva name and the cute little bottle.  I don’t care if it was in a plastic milk bottle, I’d drink it just for the taste. – $2.25

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Seventh Season

The other night Dave and I went to Target and I bought Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Seventh Season on DVD with a giftcard I saved from Christmas. I had started collecting the series way back when they first came out, but never completed my collection. Every morning FX shows reruns in order, so I’ve been getting back into it for the last few months. I went to SunCoast the other day to see if I could find some of the first seasons that I am missing, as they are pretty hard to find anywhere else. In their normal fashion, each one was $50 which is a massive rip-off. We got this one for $19.99 in-store, and it looks like even Target.com is charging quite a bit more for it. If you’re into Friends, Target had EVERY season on sale for $19.99. I only wish they had all the seasons of Buffy or something else I might want to collect.

Tiffany & Co. Diamond Earrings

I’d do dirty, dirty things for Tiffany & Co. diamond stud earrings. Designed by Frank Gehry® , these Torque Bead studs feature round brilliant diamonds. They’re not too big, and I really like the unique shape of the gold setting. Someday I aim to have enough money laying around to feel comfortable splurging on something like this. There are always more important things to save for, but it’s fun to dream. – $2,600
