300

We went today and purchased 300 on DVD tonight. If you are collectors like us, it is always wisest to buy movies you want for your collection on the day they come out. We are frequent DVD Tuesday patrons. For one thing, they are always cheaper the first day that they come out. Normally priced at about $25 for the Special Edition set, we were able to get it for about $10 off.

This is a visually stunning movie, but a bit violent for my taste. I much prefer Mr. Butler as The Phantom of the Opera, but I might be a little biased since that is my favorite musical. Still, I think it’s one of those movie you have to see at least once. – $14.99

Jewelry Coupons

Everyone loves a good coupon. I know I do. I also love jewelry, so this coupon site is ideal for me to save a little money on something I would buy anyway.

Right now Go Go Shopper is offering Jewelry Television discount coupons for 20% off  and 10% off coupons and free shipping coupons for many other top retailers too. My favorite jewelry site is BlueNile.com, and there are plenty of coupons for that site too. I have purchased quite a few pairs of earrings and a necklace from them, and I wish I had known about these coupons. If you are in the market for any new jewelry, I suggest you check them out for the best deals.

July Contest — Part 2

Soliel from Cananda was the winner of the Gap PRODUCT(RED) t-shirt for the first half of Blogathon. There’s good news though, I will be drawing for another t-shirt around 7AM tomorrow morning. The winner will announced at 8AM on La Vie de Laurie via live webcam. Everyone that entered the first time is still in the drawing, and if you’d like to write another post about me I will throw your name in again. In addition, anyone new that wants to enter the contest can do so by following the directions on the contest post.

Also, I have another t-shirt ready to mail to the person with the highest pledge by the end of Blogathon. You can still sponsor me on my pledge page.

The first three bloggers to sponsor me will also be sent a (PRODUCT)RED prize.

Luxury Furniutre

I have expensive taste in furniture and I fell in love with this island server table and hutch from this north carolina furniture store. It looks like it is straight out of the Pottery Barn catalog, at least until I saw the price. I thought– could this be for real? I’ve seen similar items in several different stores for at least twice the price. These beautiful cherry wood pieces are all selling for 27% off and are a real find. They offer a 30 day money back guarantee, and even no interest or payments until January 2009. Now I can indulge my luxury furniture tastes, but not pay luxury furniture prices while having the trendiest rooms around! – $569

July Contest ends Saturday

Filed under: Fun, Contests — Laurie @ 12:07 am
So far there are no entries in my July Contest to help promote my participation in Blogathon. This makes me really sad. Your chances of winning the drawing for this GAP (PRODUCT)RED shirt are pretty good. The contest will end Saturday at 8:00 PM, and I will do the drawing at 9:00 PM central time via live webcam provided there are any entires. Also, if you can sponsor me I would be very grateful. Corrin did, and I really appreciate it.

Looking for nutrition advice from professionals in the know? Want help 24/7? Look no further than BitWine.

I am constantly looking to find the right balance of exercise and nutrition. When I heard about a site that staffs skilled individuals known as “advisors” and then connects them with people interested in learning from those skills (i.e. ME!), I have to admit I was really intrigued. That’s what http://Nutrition.BitWine.com is all about.

Whether you’re a user looking for the perfect nutrition advice for your special needs (I’m hypothyroid), or a professional nutritionist looking to move your practice online full time– this is the place to be. There is full audio and video capability to allow client/professional interaction and a searchable directory that will help visitors find exactly the person that can help. I think this is a really unique concept, and I cannot wait to give it a try. – fees vary

Doggie Potty

If your dog is an “inside dog,” or especially if you live in an apartment or can’t come home on your lunch break– you really need to check out Doggie Potty. This is genius. It looks like a patch of grass, and you can even buy a little white picket fence or fire hydrant to go with it. They have two sizes: petite and regular.

It has your run of the mill “pee pad” under the grass portion in a small pan, and you simply change it when needed. This would have been perfect for the last month when it rained non-stop and we didn’t want to have to get Brownie soaked. Good stuff! – $99 or $149

SkinAct

Filed under: Beauty — Laurie @ 11:19 pm
I love discovering new beauty websites to shop on, so I was glad to stumble upon SkinAct.com. They carry Gucci Perfume, Hugo Boss Perfume, Calvin Klein Perfume, and Giorgio Armani Perfumes to name a few. They also carry my favorite Escada scent (that has been discontinued for over a year) for much less than I could get it for anywhere else… if I can find it that is. In addition, this site also carries the entire line of SkinCeuticals.

It would be easy for me to spend $100 on this site on non toxic nail polish and Bare Escentuals products, but when you do– you earn free UPS shipping. This site is a must add to your beauty shopping links.

Masaki Matsushima’s Cherry

Filed under: Beauty — Laurie @ 8:36 pm
While walking through Sephora the other day, I caught a glimpse of Masaki Matsushima’s Cherry perfume and fell in love with the scent. I thought the bottle was a really cool shape too. It wasn’t until I got online tonight that I found out he has a whole line of unique shaped bottles with scents like orange, chocolat, yellow, and very male. I can’t wait to go back and smell all of these. In the meantime, I have ordered myself a bottle of the Cherry with an old giftcard I never spent. It’s like Christmas in July! – $60

Office Desks

Filed under: Home — Laurie @ 6:18 pm
Some of the executive office desks at work leave something to be desired, but I thought that there were a lot of really classy and nice looking desks on this site. We recently had an auction to get rid of some of the older and damaged ones, so I could suggest management take a look at these to find out if they can find some replacements. Dave also wants to place a desk in the middle of our home office like the one in this photo, and I think it looks really sharp and professional. It’s a little pricey, but it is scratch resistant and comes in a beautiful cherry finish.
