Paradise Valley Home

My co-workers and I are buying lottery tickets for the $330 Million Power Ball drawing tonight. If we win, I could afford Phoenix real estate. One of my best friends lives in Arizona and loves it, so I think I would be alright if I purchased this gorgeous 52,000 square feet house complete with 12 bedrooms and bathrooms in Paradise Valley! I can see why it’s called paradise. Hey, a girl can dream… and I dream big. In all seriousness, I would definitely go with something a little more modest. I do love doing searches on these home sites and checking out what is available. If you can afford this beauty, invite me over so I can use one of the 37 toilets. Yes, I did say 37. – $20,000,000

Orchard Headboard

Right now I have lightly stained wood bedroom furniture. The home we’ve been building closes next month, and I will be shopping for a whole new look. I know I have mentioned before that I am shooting for a Parisian theme, so I fell in love with the style and price of this headboard. I usually wouldn’t buy something like this online since it is so large and shipping would be some outrageous fee, but this site offers free shipping! That is usually the deciding factor for me when it comes to buying anything online. – $187

Homekeys

Lots of people choose to make Florida their retirement home. Who wouldn’t want to live near the sandy beaches, Disney theme parks, and have fabulous weather practically year-round? I know I would. If you’re shopping for Orlando real estate, you should check out Homekeys.

You can search through their large database of home listings to find the one that is right for you and your family. If you’re selling a home in that area, they can help with that too. The site has lots of free information, resources, and tools to help with your real estate questions. Good Luck!

Victoria’s Secret Sale

Filed under: Save! — Laurie @ 7:50 pm
I love clothes. I have way more than any one girl should own. Seriously. You’d think I was broke all the time since I am always buying stuff.

My secret is that I am a sale shopper. I usually do not buy things that are not on sale. I scope out things I like, and wait until they are marked down before I buy them. That really saves me quite a bit of money. Probably my biggest tip is to buy things at the end of season and save them for next year. A great example is the Victoria’s Secret Sale. They have a lot of clothes that were pretty expensive to start, but are now marked down to $9.99. You could definitely buy a few summer tops, wear them a few times before the fall, or even just put them away for next year. I use this method at a lot of department stores too. You can get a lot of of stuff for a steal at places like Macy*s and Dillards at the end of a season. It’s about that time. Get shopping, now that you have Laurie’s Secret!

Projector123

For my 30th birthday in January we were talking about renting a space to throw a party. One of the things I thought would be fun to put together is a projector slideshow of pictures of me when I was growing up. I wasn’t sure where we would rent a projector, but then I ran across Projector123.com.

This company allows you to select the date you will need the projector, then will send FedEx out when the time comes. After your event, FedEx will come back to pick it up. It’s simple and easy. If you need Savannah Projector Rental check them out. They also have services in Arlington, VA Charleston, WV Greensborough/Winston-Salem, NC Richmond, VA  and and Tallahassee, FL.

Benefit Buh-Buys: Kitten Shimmering Powder

Filed under: Accessories, Save! — Laurie @ 7:37 pm
One of my latest beauty discoveries is Benefit Cosmetics. I was browsing their site checking out the Back to Beauty (School) Lessons and noticed that they are offering free shipping if you purchase two items from their promo. Just use the code GORGEOUS at checkout. Also, FRESHP65 will get you free shipping on a purchase over $65.

I also ran across their sale section, and love that it is called buh-buys! They offer 75% on items that are being discontinued on the site for eyes, lips, cheeks, and more. I found a kitten goes to paris shimmering powder that I officially cannot live without. I will be adding it to my wishlist, and am hoping it will still be around during the holidays. There are a bunch of other “kitty” powders, and the containers are just adorable.

They also have some kick arse wallpapers for your computer that are completely free. Girl Power, anyone? – $19.50

Bonny Royal Satin Wedding Gown

Filed under: Clothing — Laurie @ 1:01 am
One of my favorite parts about planning my wedding was shopping and trying on wedding dresses. The dress I really wanted was a Bonny Gown similar to the one in the photo. My colors were Navy, White, and Silver. This was the perfect dress. A lot of friends and family were not fans since it was not a traditional all white dress. I still would have gotten it, but the only store that sold it in my area only carried a sample size 10. You would have to pay for your dress in full before they would order your size. There was no way I was going to buy I dress I couldn’t try on first, so I decided to go with my second choice.I love every detail about this dress. The intricate beading and embroidery accenting the V-neckline is amazing. The one that I wanted was strapless but still had beading around the front, while this one is sleveless. I was surprised how flattering and comfortable strapless versions were. I am happy with the dress I ended up with, but every once in awhile I still think of my dream dress and wonder what could have been.– $490

Blog Designers?

I want to redesign my blog’s template and header.  Usually I know where online to look for things I want to buy, but when it comes to custom web designers I am a little lost. I have found a few that I really like, who have styles that I admire and see fitting in with the idea I have for my blog. The problem is the price. Obviously they are very good at what they do, but honestly I am not going to pay $700 for a new header. The other problem is some are not accepting new clients, and others have moved up to websites instead of blogs.

Does anyone know any awesome blog designers who are in the $100 range?

Dr. Martens Work Shoes/Boots

Filed under: Accessories — Laurie @ 10:04 pm
Remember the days when Dr. Martens were so popular that everyone had to own a pair? They are less popular as far as a fashion statement these days, but they still make excellent heavy duty work shoes. They will seriously last a lifetime. I like this pair of work boots. They are all leather and feature the PVC soles that provide the durability they are known for.

MetBoots.com offer free shipping (my favorite!) on orders of over $100. If you don’t need work boots or shoes, they also offer a pretty large assortment of dress shoes and boots from big names such as Dickies, Converse, Durango and more. There are plenty of styles to choose from too. – $93.95

Olive Garden’s Never Ending Pasta Bowl

Filed under: Yum — Laurie @ 5:45 pm
It’s time for the Never Ending Pasta Bowl at Olive Garden! Too bad Dave just took me last week as a surprise. It happens to be one of my favorite places– I am sure all the real Italian folks are shaking their fists as me right now. I know it’s just a chain, but I really love it. Since I can’t go again so soon, I thought I’d help spread the word. Enjoy all the warm, yummy breadsticks and delicious salad you want before chowing down on the pasta. Have some alfredo for me! – $8.95
