New Fall Apparel for Pets

Dressed up doggies just melt my heart. When I saw that Petco has a new line of Fall Apparel for dogs, I had to take a look. I love this hooded argyle sweater from the “Gent-Teal” collection. Wouldn’t Brownie look just adorable? You can’t beat the price either– under $15, and they are offering an additional 10% off. – $13.49

Do Your Loan Research

Filed under: Financial — Laurie @ 9:39 am
It is very important to get the best loans and interest rates you can when making a big purchase. We just closed on our home on Tuesday and I look out the very first loan of my life. It can sometimes be scary to feel like you’re signing your life away, but sometimes taking out personal loans, or secured loans are just a part of life.

Which one is right for you? I suggest doing a lot of research and be sure to ask your bank or loan officier lots of questions. They really don’t mind. Right before our closing there have been tons of stories on the news about the declining housing market and people having foreclosure troubles. Sometimes you have to just make the leap, because I have the feeling there will be issues like this for at least a few more years. My advice is to do your homework, ask questions, and go for it.

E.L.F. Fraud Alert

You may have recently gotten a forwarded e-mail that has been circulating, promoting a make-up company called E.L.F. (eyes.lips.face). Here is the one I got:

FYI - Nordstrom recently purchased the higher end
make-up line called E.L.F. (eyeslipsface), so they’re
clearancing their entire online inventory. Everything
is only $1. Make up brushes, lip glosses, eye shadow
sets, concealer, etc. Go to www.eyeslipsface.com to
check out the deals and enter “Carolina” under coupon
and it gives you an additional 50% off of your order
of up to $20 ($10 off the entire order). Shipping is
cheap. E.L.F. (eyeslipsface) is a Memolink partners,
so START AT MEMOLINK!

While $1 for high end makeup sounds like a great deal, it appears that E.L.F. has no deal with Nordstrom, and they actually have a fraud alert on their website. I did some online research, and discovered they pulled a similar scam last year using Bloomingdale’s. Customers are getting the products they order, but they are certainly not high end. You can buy the stuff at your local Target or other discount stores. Be careful if you decide to order from them.

Tatoos

I have always wanted a butterfly tattoo, cliche as it is. We went to see a movie called Eastern Promises this weekend and Viggo’s character has two Star Tattoos over his heart. Apparently the Russian mob has tattoos all over their body that “tell a story.” I like the idea that each one means something. The butterfly wouldn’t symbolize much for me, I just like them. I think this site has a great idea. You find a design you like, purchase it, and then print it out and take it to your local artist. It couldn’t be easier. – Various Prices

Tiffany & Co. Graduated Bead Drop Earrings

Filed under: Accessories — Laurie @ 10:09 am
Tiffany just sent me a new catalog featuring the new silver items. Leave it to them to add cute earrings that match my silver pearl set. I love my graduated necklace and bracelet. I also have the single stud earring, but they also have graduated bead drop earrings. LOVE. I won’t be getting them for awhile, but I just wanted it to be known that I will be placing them on my WishList! Did you see that, Santa? – $175

Art of Disney: Magic stamps

Filed under: Fun — Laurie @ 7:13 pm
I am not a stamp collector, but I love to buy cute and modern stamps for my letters. While I am into e-mail and all things online, I still think there is something special about sending out a card to your friends and family to brighten their day. I love getting mail, and it is really special when someone takes the time out of their day to hand write me a note. They have done several sets of Disney stamps, and the newest is Art of Disney: Magic. Why not send a little magic to someone this week? I’d love a letter! – $8.20

High School Musical

Filed under: Movies, TV, Music — Laurie @ 5:45 pm
If you live on Planet Earth, you’ve no doubt heard of High School Musical. You’ve probably even seen it if you have any tween children or even high school aged kids. Of course I knew what it was, but never did manage to catch it on TV. I finally Netflixed it a month or so ago (before the sequel came out) to see what all the fuss was about. Eh. It was okay. I am sure I would have been really into it about 15 years ago. I still haven’t seen the second one, but I just found out you can buy High School Musical tickets for the live musical, ice show, and concert tour. Parents beware… you’re likely to get asked if your tweens can go! Tickets are pricey– most over $100 a ticket.

Red Bone demi harness

Filed under: Pets — Laurie @ 5:05 pm
I am always shopping on the Internet for something. A lot of the time I spend time browsing doggie sites for cute stuff to buy Brownie. I found Kaly and Me from Pampered Pooch. Our little guy gets walked with a collar leash, and honestly I hate it because he pulls us faster than we can go. It would be much better if we used a harness. I thought this cute Red Bone demi harness would be the perfect solution. Soon he’ll have a backyard, but this would be pefect for walks in our new ‘hood. – $30

Sexy & Sassy Ruffled Lingerie Set

Filed under: Clothing, Accessories — Laurie @ 2:22 pm
I am always a fan of sweet and sexy lingerie, verses completely trashy. I’d much rather wear modest teddies made with pretty lace over anything vinyl or see-through. That’s just me. Everyone has their own taste. Our anniversary is on Tuesday, and I thought this little pink and black set was just perfect. I think it is the perfect combination of cute, fun, and sweet plus a little sexy and flirty. The little bows also soften up the look. The price was quite a bit lower than Vickies or Frederick’s too. – $29.95
