Clinique Bonus Week

Clinique Bonus Week just wrapped up at Dillard’s, but there’s good news! I was walking through Macy’s over the weekend and they are getting their Bonus Time on April 20, 2008. It looks like a nice gift set too. It will include two lipsticks. A girl can never have too much makeup, right? And certainly you can always use a free gift!

Oysters are NOT a joke!

Q. What do you get when you cross a rabbit with an oyster? A. The Oyster Bunny. That’s a fabulous joke for Easter, right? Considering Dave and I just got back from having Red Lobster for dinner… it’s perfect! We didn’t partake in any oysters though, and it’s a good thing since I wasn’t “Oyster Aware” until tonight when I read the facts at BeOysterAware.com. Oysters are serious business and NOT a joke.

Did you know that consuming raw Gulf oysters can be deadly to those that already have liver disease, iron overload disease (hemochromatosis), diabetes, cancer (including lymphoma, leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease), stomach disorders, or any illness or medical condition that weakens the body’s immune system? Wow. That’s majorly scary stuff. I’ve never been an oyster eater myself, and I don’t have any of these conditions BUT I know people that do. I plan to spread the word. You should too. Check out more facts on the website.

Save the Tatas Promotional Code

Filed under: Save! — Laurie @ 10:33 pm
I recently decided to walk in the 2008 Breast Cancer 3-Day to honor David’s mom who lost her battle over 10 years ago. I bought some t-shirts and fundraising stuff from the 3-Day, but I just love Save the Tatas, and couldn’t resist ordering from them too. I found a promotional/coupon code good for 10% off and though I would share: uW007. A portion of each sale goes to breast cancer research. – 10% off

Trusted Tours

I have been thinking about family vacation ideas this week. It’s Spring Break around here, and I’d love to get away and enjoy some time off. Dave and I have been on quite a few romantic vacations, but my memory of our first Vegas trip is probably my favorite. I won an American Express travel certificate worth $1000 about four years ago when we were dating. I treated us to an all-expenses paid trip to Vegas in which we stayed at the Paris Hotel (of course).

We had an amazing room with a fabulous view. We woke up every morning and had breakfast in the cute little Parisian bakery, and dined at the buffet (one of the best in Vegas in my opinion). The most memorable moment was when we went on top of the Eiffel Tower one night and watched the fountain over at the Bellagio. It was gorgeous. It was a cold night and we huddled together to keep warm and kissed.

There are tons of romantic things to do in Las Vegas, so why not let Trusted Tours & Attractions help you plan your next getaway? You can also win an iPod if you sign up for their newsletter before March 31. They have informative, useful, and practical articles as well as money saving deals included in each issue. Hurry though– the contest ends next Monday. Maybe we’ll be on our way to the San Diego zoo next!

To Medifast or not to Medifast

I really need to get back on the diet train. Should I join Weight Watchers? It’s never really worked for me. Jenny? I have a friend who is doing it now with success and I actually did it back in High School and lost 30 pounds. Post thyroid it doesn’t work for me though. Medifast? I have a pantry full of the stuff that went unused and moved with us to the house. Nothing sounds as good as just eating right though. Bah. Why can’t it be easy? Maybe after Easter.

Win a Wii!

Have you been itching to get your hands on a Wii? I know they were very difficult to find around the holidays since they were the most popular of the current gaming systems and were sold out everywhere. My brother has had one for quite awhile though, and I must say that I have some fond memories of playing Nintendo as a kid. Now you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg on your own system– you can simply Click Here for a Chance to Win a Nintendo® Wii™!

Charter is giving visitors the opportunity to register for the chance to receive a Nintendo Wii Console, Wii Stand, 5 Sports games ( Boxing, Baseball, Tennis, Golf and bowling), 1 Remote Controller, 1 Nunchuk Controller, 1 Sensor Bar, 1 Wii AC Adapter, 1 Wii AV Cable. That’s a complete package worth a nice chunk of change!

Visitors can also register to bid on the Charter High-Speed® Internet for Life, but they must be in a Charter serviceable area. Bids start at $10, and you can find out more information and Sweepstakes Rules by visiting their site. I can’t decide which prize I’d rather have– a complete Wii system, or free high-speed service for life. Which would you choose? Head over to their website and register for both today!

COACH BCRF Heart Charm

I love it when Dave surprises me, and Friday was one of those days. We had our usual date night dinner and then he tells me that he wants to take me to the mall and buy me a gift at Coach. That’s always exciting. We went into the store and he told me to pick something out. Since I’m walking in the Breast Cancer 3-Day, I selected the Coach breast cancer charm. It’s perfect to help promote awareness, and it looks just adorable on my keyring. – $38
