| I have been thinking about family vacation ideas this week. It’s Spring Break around here, and I’d love to get away and enjoy some time off. Dave and I have been on quite a few romantic vacations, but my memory of our first Vegas trip is probably my favorite. I won an American Express travel certificate worth $1000 about four years ago when we were dating. I treated us to an all-expenses paid trip to Vegas in which we stayed at the Paris Hotel (of course). |
 |
We had an amazing room with a fabulous view. We woke up every morning and had breakfast in the cute little Parisian bakery, and dined at the buffet (one of the best in Vegas in my opinion). The most memorable moment was when we went on top of the Eiffel Tower one night and watched the fountain over at the Bellagio. It was gorgeous. It was a cold night and we huddled together to keep warm and kissed.
There are tons of romantic things to do in Las Vegas, so why not let Trusted Tours & Attractions help you plan your next getaway? You can also win an iPod if you sign up for their newsletter before March 31. They have informative, useful, and practical articles as well as money saving deals included in each issue. Hurry though– the contest ends next Monday. Maybe we’ll be on our way to the San Diego zoo next!

I love to travel, and strangely I even enjoy planning travel too. I can spend hours on sites like CheapoAir mapping out everything from airfare, hotels and rental cars. |
I am a pro at online travel planning. I can’t remember the last time I used a travel agent or even spoke with someone over the phone to buy plane tickets or to reserve a hotel room. That’s the beauty of the Internet. Like everything though, there is always competition. There are a lot of one-stop travel sites that can take care of all your needs. How do you know which one to use?
For me and probably most other people, price is the most important and deciding factor when selecting a site to use from. Just because you’re on the Internet doesn’t mean you can’t comparison shop. The great thing about CheapoAir is they have a low fare guarantee. I had given up on buying airfare to Las Vegas for a convention, but their sale rate is actually right in my price range– just over $200. Most other places I looked were over $300 or slightly under.
They do have a toll free number that you can call if you like speaking with a real life person, so as their motto says, “One Click or Call Does It All!”

As you know, Las Vegas is one of my favorite cities on the planet. I’ve been countless times, and always have a lot of fun. My parents really enjoy the Sahara hotel for its buffet, and it was within walking distance from the RV park they say at. I researched staying there during one of my trips, and it is actually one of the most affordable hotels on the strip. I like the theme, and they even have their own rollar coaster out front! – average $86 |

Among my favorite trips ever have been the Orlando vacations I have taken with my family and husband. Two of my friends are going before the end of the year, and I am really jealous. I was invited, but I don’t think David would approve if I took off for a week to enjoy Disney without him right before Christmas. I want to plan a trip for us early next year sometime, so here’s hoping it is as affordable as now. In case you didn’t know, Christmas is the slowest time (and best time) of year to make it out to the theme parks. |

My friend LeAnn is planning a Disney World vacation with her family in December. I’ve been during that time of year, and it is suppose to be the least busy time. I think looking into vacation home rental for an extended stay like that is the perfect idea. In addition to enjoy all that Disney has to offer, you could return “home” to a beautiful house and a lovely PRIVATE swimming pool. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like going to a crowded hotel pool. It would be much more relaxing to enjoy my own private area with friends and family. – call 1-800-LOWREYS to book |
| I’m sad. I just took the countdown ticker to PostieCon off my sidebar. I think I am finally accepting that over $300 for Vegas airfair for two or three days is outrageous. I won’t even get into the hotel prices. Flights on Expedia were about $200 three weeks ago. I should have bought my ticket then. Last week the same ticket was over $300. Today prices dipped slightly under $300. What a roller coaster! |
|
We close on our house later this month, so really I shouldn’t be taking a trip anyway. I know I will be missing out big time though and I am really bummed out. Let this be a lesson– lock in those prices when they’re low. Don’t wait. I took that advice today myself, and we locked in the interest rate for our home. I didn’t want to play the market anymore and risk the rate going up like my plane ticket did!
Oh, and for comparison– a few years ago when I went to Vegas I paid a little over $300 total for airfare and hotel. That’s why my panties are in a wad.

I want to be a world traveler one day, and Iceland is definitely on my list of places to visit. If you’ve been reading my blogs for any amount of time, you probably know that I obsessively plan vacations on Expedia. I’ve been checking out prices for Vegas and Orlando, and now I’ve been looking at Hotels in Reykjavik. I’m a last minute kind of gal, so these last minute prices on CheaperThanHotels.com are exactly my kind of deal. |
Reykjavik is Iceland’s capital city, and there is plenty to do and see from all extremes. The city is filled will nature and quiet, relaxing places, but there’s also a lively culture and fun-filled nightlife.

Who doesn’t need a little more Mickey Mouse in their life? I know later this year Mike & Corrin are planning to spend some time in Florida for their honeymoon. We also want to go visit Dave’s grandmother who lives near Orlando late this year or early next year. What would be better than staying at an awesome Orlando vacation rental? I looked at some of these houses, and they are amazing. Nothing beats the extra space and privacy you get verses staying at a resort. – check availability and book online |

My husband and I went to the Bahamas for our honeymoon, and it is absolutely one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The climate is nice as well, not too hot and not too cold. There were a lot of fun local shops, and of course beaches as far as the eye could see. I even swam with the dolphins, something I had always wanted to do. The Atlantis hotel and casino was amazing too, and I know they have built onto it since we have been there. I’d love to visit again, and I’m in luck thanks to SideStep which helps users find Hotel Deals to locations all over the world. |
This is a really cool site, and it is super easy to use. I have already spent nearly an hour dreaming about my fantasy second vacation to the Bahamas, and in the next hour I will be planning a trip to Paris! After that, I need to look for Hotel Deals for our Vegas trip in November. Before the night is through, I am going to have all my vacations planned for the next two years. This site also has Vacation Packages and cruises, and you can also find flights and rental cars too. It’s a one stop shop for all your travel planning needs!
